Four Porto players could miss Nottingham Forest Europa League tie as injury update issued

Four Porto players missed training as they began their preparations to face Nottingham Forest in the Europa League.

The Reds travel to Portugal for the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday before hosting Porto at the City Ground in the second leg on April 16.

Rodrigo Mora, Nehuén Pérez, Luuk de Jong and Samu were listed as unavailable for training on Monday.

Porto were in action in the Portuguese top flight on Saturday, drawing 2-2 with Famalicao, and they lost key man Mora in the first half of the match.

Porto boss Francesco Farioli gave an update on the forward’s situation after the final whistle, saying: “He felt pain in his other leg. We’ll have to see. It’ll be difficult to recover, but we’ll have to check tomorrow.”

Mora did some gym work on Monday while Pérez did conditioned training and de Jong and Samu received treatment and worked in the gym.

Mora is said to have avoided a muscle injury, while the other three players are recovering from long-term injuries.
