Following our previous visit to COOKFOX, we are keeping our Meet Your Next Employer series in New York City this week to explore the work of Ringo Studio.
Led by Madelynn Ringo, the boutique studio collaborates with a wide variety of clients from legacy brands to startups, providing services from creative brand direction to retail consulting to designing spaces and objects. “We believe that design can evoke emotions, empower community, and introduce the extraordinary to unexpected places,” the studio says about its approach.
Over on Archinect Jobs, the firm is currently hiring for a Senior Architecture Designer and Project Manager to join their New York City team. For candidates interested in applying for a position or anybody interested in learning more about the firm’s output, we have rounded up four fashion and wellness spaces by Ringo Studio that exemplify the firm’s ethos.

Steve Madden Flagship, New York, NY
For Steve Madden’s international flagship store in Times Square, Ringo Studio sought to introduce a new spatial identity for the brand. The interior is organized around a sweeping oak colonnade that structures circulation while forming seating areas and display zones. Material contrasts between wood, black marble, travertine, concrete, and glossy tile define merchandising areas throughout the store. Suspended linear lighting responds to the curving walls and 18-foot ceiling height, while perimeter niches finished in bold colors frame product displays.

Chillhouse Flagship, New York, NY
Ringo Studio redesigned the Chillhouse flagship in Soho to update the wellness brand’s original Varick Street location and support its expansion into retail and lifestyle products. The project reorganizes the interior around distinct zones for reception, retail, cafe seating, and nail services. A custom ten-foot retail wall with integrated lighting emphasizes product display, while terraced lounge seating introduces a communal focus within the cafe. Material updates include satin aluminum, high-gloss lacquer, limewash, epoxy flooring, and chrome accents.

Kuona, New York, NY
For Kuona, a concierge eye clinic in NoHo, Ringo Studio sought to create a hospitality-oriented alternative to the traditional medical interior. The project integrates retail, consultation, and waiting areas within a continuous, lounge-like environment. Walnut display columns, cream shelving, and integrated mirrors organize the main retail zone, while a sculptural burl-wood reception desk set against glass block defines the central space. Material choices include walnut, marble, lacquer, textiles, and tinted glazing, contributing to a warm, mid-century-influenced palette.

Lore Bathing Club, New York, NY
The redesign of Lore Bathing Club, a membership-based wellness facility in NoHo, was developed in collaboration with Studioilse. The project reinterprets the traditional bathhouse through a sequence of thermal spaces including saunas, cold plunges, and social areas. The interior emphasizes material contrast, pairing travertine, brick, walnut, and porcelain tile to differentiate zones of heat and cooling. Spatial transitions are marked by shifts in ceiling height, compression and expansion, and saturated-colored stair elements.
