Free Family Movie Nights Once Again Being Offered In Duluth, MN

Getting members of a community together to enjoy entertainment is important because it has been shown to foster social connection, create shared emotional experiences, and build stronger, more inclusive neighborhoods.

It also creates a safe place for all community members to get to know each other better, making a seemingly basic, passive gathering an active community-building tool.

Good news arrived this week for people in the Morgan Park area of Duluth, Minnesota, as the community will once again have the opportunity to enjoy a series of free movie nights together.

Duluth Parks and Recreation Hosting Free Family Movie Nights Beginning March 6

City of Duluth Parks and Recreation announced that Family Movie Nights at Morgan Park are back and will run every Friday night from March 6 to April 10 at the Morgan Park Community Center, located at 1242 88th Avenue W.

Movies will start every Friday at 6:30 p.m. as organizers will transform the Morgan Park Community Center into a movie theater to enjoy a free, “cozy movie night.” They’ll have a big screen, comfy chairs, and free popcorn as part of the festivities. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or their favorite seat to get comfortable.

It’s open to people of all ages, but children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. For parents concerned about what type of movies will be shown, organizers say that all movies will be rated PG.
