“Friends Forever” (Filoi Gia Panta in Greek), the new feature from Iconic Films, directed by Konstantinos Mousoulis, explores that delicate line where good intentions meet chaotic consequences.

The film follows a series of interconnected stories that begin with a wedding spiraling out of control before the first “I do.” From a simple errand that turns into an odyssey across Crete to family feuds and catastrophic misunderstandings, this anthology-style comedy poses the ultimate question: How far would you go for a friend?

Mousoulis weaves a narrative that feels both fresh and nostalgic. While the humor is contemporary, the film evokes the golden era of Greek cinema, where laughter isn’t forced but arises naturally from the absurdity of the human condition.

Behind the lens: Mousoulis’ vision

Though “Friends Forever” marks his feature film debut, Mousoulis is a seasoned storyteller with 18 short films and over 70 fiction scenes under his belt. Having studied in the UK and spent 12 years in Los Angeles founding Homeric Pictures, he brings an international polish to this very Greek story.

Speaking on the transition to feature-length filmmaking, Mousoulis shared:

“I’ve done 18 shorts, so my main concern was the team. Once the collaborators ‘clicked’—and they are all fantastic both in front of and behind the camera—everything flowed effortlessly. We bonded from day one, even finishing ahead of schedule. It was a fantastic experience.”

Despite his technical background in drama and thrillers, Mousoulis found his heart in comedy:

“It was a decision I made after returning home from America. Growing up in Greece, comedy felt like a fundamental part of our culture. We were raised on the legends—icons like Voutsas, Konstantaras, Psaltis, Gionakis, and my personal favorite, Sotiris Moustakas. My goal was to marry the narrative discipline and structure I developed working in the States with the soul and heart of classic Greek comedy,” Mousoulis told Athens Voice.

“I love comedy. It is the most difficult genre and the most selfless—often overlooked by awards, but I will definitely return to it,” he added.

An all-star ensemble

The film boasts a “who’s who” of Greek talent, featuring:

Thanasis Tsaltabasis, Doretta Papadimitriou, and Thanasis Alevras

Zisis Roumpos, Matina Nikolaou, and Giannis Apergis

Louis Mandylor (of My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame)

Supported by EKKOMED and featuring a title track by superstars Stavento & Ivi Adamou, the film is a celebration of the “beautiful mess” we call friendship. It is the perfect movie to watch with your own inner circle—if only for the relief of knowing you aren’t the only ones who have made a situation worse just by trying to help.
