Genesis Mission Invests in Science and Technology Solutions – The Presidential Prayer Team

DOE to invest millions into AI technology to address “national challenges.”

The Department of Energy (DOE) has made a $293 million Request for Application (RFA) to further the Genesis Mission’s efforts. This RFA, named “The Genesis Mission: Transforming Science and Energy with AI,” will incentivise interdisciplinary teams to utilize new AI models, so they can address over 20 “national challenges,” including critical minerals, nuclear energy, and quantum information science.

Under Secretary for Science and Genesis Mission Director Darío Gil said, “The Genesis Mission has caught the imagination of our scientific and engineering communities to tackle national challenges in the age of AI. With these investments we seek breakthrough ideas and novel collaborations leveraging the scientific prowess of our National Laboratories, the private sector, universities, and science philanthropies.”

Phase I awards will range from $500,000 to $750,000 in support of 9 month projects, and Phase II awards will range from $6 million to $15 million to support projects lasting a three year period. Applications for Phase I and letters of intent for Phase II are due April 28, 2026. Phase II applications are due May 19, 2026.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Gil receive God’s wisdom and strength as he leads the Genesis Mission.
  • For U.S. energy officials as they review the RFA applications and approve AI projects.
