Singer Yuqi of girl group i-dle has been chosen as one of Chinese music giant Tencent Music’s Women of the Year in Music 2026.
The list comprises 12 women who outperformed in the Chinese music market, especially on Tencent Music’s online platforms.
She was chosen for her “energy” and “talents as a singer-songwriter,” as showcased in her first solo single, “Motivation” (2025), for which she participated in composing and writing the lyrics.
She also nabbed Singer of the Year, Solo Singer of the Year, Song of the Year and EP/Single of the Year for Tencent Music’s Korean chart, said her agency Cube Entertainment. Yuqi’s music sat on Tencent Music’s Korean chart 147 times and ranked within the top 20 122 times.
She recently sang “Magic Together,” the theme song for Shanghai Disneyland’s 10-year anniversary event.
i-dle performed in Taipei for its “Syncopation” tour on Saturday. The quintet became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Taipei Dome. All tickets were sold out soon after sales began, according to Cube Entertainment.
