After spending most of my life around dogs, I’ve realized that when it comes to TV and movies, there are two different types: The kind who completely ignore that the TV is even on and just walk right past the screen, and the kind who love to settle in and watch whatever’s going on with you. My dog is a big TV watcher, especially if a sport that involves lots of bright colors happens to be on!
And then, there’s this Golden Retriever, who is firmly in that second category, too—and he happens to have excellent taste in movies already, if you ask me.
This video of @george_thegoldenboy shows him stopping in his tracks to watch one of the older animated Barbie movies while his mom is watching (in this case, it’s Barbie’s take on the story of Rapunzel), and he is very clearly completely enraptured by it.
“He is literally a boy version of me,” his mom wrote in the caption.
Another video she shared showed exactly how much he gets into it, even getting his face as close to the TV as possible so he doesn’t miss a second of the action. This is a true Barbie fan if I’ve ever seen one!

I have a feeling that this dog mom and her pup are going to find plenty more things they have in common, because George is still pretty young, and he’s only been living with his forever family for a few months.
Back in December, his mom first introduced him to TikTok, and he was just a tiny little guy… and since then, he really has grown so much (both in size and in his taste in movies, clearly).
He came home just in time to celebrate the holidays with his new parents, and since then, it seems he really has hit soulmate status with his mom, who can’t stop posting about how much she loves him. Really, that’s the kind of love that every dog deserves—especially since they’re all always so willing to give every bit of it back to us.
