Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks matchup.
An 11-game win streak for the Hawks (38-32, 7th in East) came to a close last night vs. the Rockets. Atlanta will hope to bounce back with another inter-conference matchup on Saturday. The Warriors (33-37, 10th in West) come into this one with major injury issues. Golden State, slipping in the standings, desperately needs a win.
Which players are poised to surpass their totals this evening? The Hawks are favored by 10.5 points (-110) over the Warriors, with the over/under set at 229.5 points. Here are the two top prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s Golden State vs. Atlanta matchup.
Warriors vs. Hawks prop bet picks
Gui Santos 17+ points (-101)
Just about everything has gone wrong for Golden State over the past few months. That includes a devastating knee injury to Steph Curry. In the Hall of Famer’s absence, this offense has had a true identity crisis. A mish-mash group of scorers have taken turns leading the way for the Warriors. That includes Gui Santos, a third-year pro who has impressed as of late. Since February 1st, the Brazilian is averaging 15.3 points per game on 50/34/76 shooting splits.
Santos will look to keep his superb play going on Saturday. That’s easier said than done against an improving Hawks defense. Regardless, someone has to score for the visitors in this one. De’Anthony Melton (knee) is questionable to suit up, while Kristaps Porzingis (back) has already been ruled out. Santos has tallied at least 17 points in five of his last eight appearances. Another quality showing could be on tap tonight in Atlanta.
Onyeka Okongwu 8+ rebounds (-120)
Speaking of that stellar Hawks defense, Onyeka Okongwu has been a two-way force. The big man, given a larger role this season, has responded with a career year. In 64 matchups this season, the USC alum has posted 15.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. It helps, at least for betting purposes, that Atlanta lacks high-end depth at center. Okongwu is averaging around 30 minutes per game over his last ten outings.
The Warriors have been a mediocre team on the glass for most of this season. Their total rebounding rate of 48.8% is the seventh-worst mark in basketball. However, a slow-paced offense prevents opponents from racking up gaudy stats in that category. That may not be the case on Saturday; the Hawks operate at the NBA’s second-quickest tempo on offense. To boot, Okongwu has snagged eight or more boards in nine of his last 12 contests. Golden State could also be without Draymond Green (back), one of the club’s better rebounders. Another solid performance down low could be in the cards tonight for OO.
