As part of the ongoing Steam House and Home Fest, the home renovation sim House Flipper is available at no cost until April 6. This giveaway also coincides with the launch of playtests for the House Flipper Remastered Collection, which are running through the same date. The remastered edition is expected to release later this year.
In House Flipper, you start small and gradually build a renovation business from the ground up. Early on, you’ll take on simple jobs like cleaning, painting, and installing appliances such as heaters and showers. As you progress, you’ll move on to buying, renovating, and reselling entire properties.
Originally released in 2018, the game became a major success, selling over 8.5 million copies across PC and consoles. While House Flipper 2 launched in 2023, only the original game is part of this free offer – and it still holds the stronger reception, boasting a 94% approval rating from more than 45,000 user reviews on Steam, earning it a “Very Positive” score.
Each property in the game acts as a blank canvas, letting you clean, redesign, furnish, and fully customize homes to your liking. There are also several DLC packs available that introduce new furniture, pets, and locations, including a free expansion set in a cyberpunk-inspired city. If you enjoy the base game, the full Flipper Bundle with paid DLC is currently discounted during the ongoing Steam event.
To keep the game permanently, you’ll need to claim it before 17:00 UTC on April 6. Simply head to the Steam page, click “Add to Account,” and make sure you’re logged in with the Steam client installed.
