GreatAmerica Financial Services Corporation announced Monday it’s opened the spring application period for its Employee Advised Fund (EAF). Area nonprofits can submit applications through Friday, March 27, 2026.
The company’s overall GreatAmerica Gives Back initiative has contributed over $10 million to local nonprofits, with employees donating thousands of volunteer hours to various causes.
The announcement follows GreatAmerica’s recent recognition as the recipient of the Monitor 2026 Community Impact Award, featured in the publication’s January/February “Best Companies in Equipment Finance” issue. The award reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to community service.
The EAF empowers GreatAmerica employees to guide charitable contributions on behalf of the company, directly supporting organizations in the Corridor. This spring application cycle marks the fifth round of giving for the EAF, which has awarded $1 million to more than 30 unique nonprofit organizations.

When our employees lead our giving, it reflects who we are, and it helps us attract and retain great people who want to be part of something bigger,” said Martin Golobic, CEO of GreatAmerica Financial Services. “We believe in taking care of the places that take care of us. Our employees lead how we give back, and we’re grateful for the way they show up.”
To apply, nonprofit organizations must hold a registered 501(c)(3) status and secure a GreatAmerica employee sponsor. The fund prioritizes four key areas: health and human services, arts and culture, environment and public projects. The EAF, launched in 2022, complements the GreatAmerica Donor Advised Fund, established in 2001. Together, these funds provide more than $1.1 million annually to projects in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor, managed by the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
