Greece Chamber names Business Person of Year, award winners

Greece Chamber of Commerce, vice president at New York Technology Partners, was named Business Person of the Year by the Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Reed was recognized at the annual banquet for supporting local businesses and providing mentorship.

“This event is about recognizing the people who show up, step forward and make a difference — often without expecting recognition,” John Adams, president and CEO of the Greece Chamber, said in a news release.

Also honored:

Young Professional of the year: Anthony Lodato, Complete Payroll.

Building Award/Renovation: Boscov’s, The Mall at Greece Ridge.

New Construction Award: .

Girlie Goodwin Citizen of the Year: Julie Chapus, Miss Julie’s School of Beauty, and Lindsay Ward, New York State Development Center.

William E. Selke Senior Citizens of the Year: Gene Noga.

First Responder of the Year: Chris Mros, Greece Central School District.

History Award: Richard. T “Dick” Halsey.

Arts & Culture Award: Tom Ricci, Artists Unlimited.

Education Award: Megan Wright, Greece Central School District.

Health Award: Wendy Cooper, Healthy Highway.

Thomas E. Schommer Spirit of the Chamber Award: Joe Robach.

Ed Mederski Environment Award: Valerie Simeone, Refined Restoration.

The environment award was named to honor the memory of Ed Mederski, who died in 2025.

“This was more than an ceremony; it was a reminder of what makes Greece special,” Adams said. “Even in uncertain times, the story here is a positive one because of the resilience, creativity and commitment of the people we honored.”
