Greece hits 45.8°C and -11.8°C in 2025, official figures show

Greece’s meteorological highlights for 2025 show a peak temperature of 45.8°C in Skala, Messinia, recorded on July 25, and the year’s lowest temperature, not including ski resorts, of -11.8°C at Ochiro, Nevrokopi on February 22, according to figures provided by meteo.gr and the National Observatory of Athens. 

At the Kaimaktsalan Ski Resort, temperatures dropped to -16.3°C on December 31.

Rainfall extremes included 326 millimeters in a single day at Arta Waterfall on November 21, while Petaleia, Corfu, recorded 2,202 millimeters of annual precipitation.

The summer of 2025 was notably hot, ranking as the third hottest in the country’s recorded history.
