Greece Inflation Eases Slightly in January — TradingView News


The annual inflation rate in Greece edged down to 2.5% in January 2026 from a four-month high of 2.6% in the previous month.

Price growth slowed for housing and utilities (2.1% vs 2.8% in December), transport (0.9% vs 1.7%), and restaurants and accommodation services (6.8% vs 6.9%).

Decreases were also observed in prices of furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (-0.5% vs 0.5%), miscellaneous goods and services (-0.7% vs 0.6%), and communication (-1.6% vs 0.3%).

In contrast, inflation accelerated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.5% vs 3.6%), clothing and footwear (8.0% vs 1.8%), recreation and culture (2.0% vs 1.0%), while remained steady for education (at 2.8%) and health (at 0.4%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.8% in January, the first decline in six months, following a 0.3% rise in December.
