Greece’s Foreign Ministry has issued a travel advisory urging Greek citizens to avoid non-essential visits to Israel, the Palestinian Territories and Iran in light of the evolving situation in the Middle East.
In a statement, the ministry said that, taking into account developments in the region, it recommends that Greek nationals refrain from traveling to the three destinations unless absolutely necessary.
The advisory comes amid heightened regional tensions, as several countries have issued similar guidance to their citizens.
In recent days, governments including Australia, Germany, India, Poland, Serbia, South Korea, Sweden and the United States have advised their nationals to leave Iran or avoid travel to the country. Some have also begun withdrawing non-essential diplomatic personnel and their families from parts of the region.
Earlier, the US Embassy in Israel announced that the US State Department authorized the departure of non-essential staff and family members for security reasons.
The Greek Foreign Ministry’s advisory reflects growing international caution as concerns over regional stability continue.
