GREECE, N.Y. — Greece Police Tuesday arrested three men they say they found asleep inside a stolen car that apparently had been significantly damaged in a crash.
Police responded to the Walmart on Dewey Avenue at about 3:04 p.m. after a caller reported a vehicle in the parking lot with significant front-end damage, Officers confirmed that the 2005 Buick Rainier had been reported stolen from the City of Rochester.
The three people in the car gave conflicting statements about ownership and what they had been up to.
All three — Evan Clark, 42, of Rochester; Shane Drew, 40, of Rochester; and Tyrone Stewart, 55, of Lyons — were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Clark also was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. As of 10 p.m., only Stewart remained in jail.
