Greece’s Army General Staff has released a video inviting women to volunteer for service in the Hellenic Army for the first time.
The clip, titled “Responsibility for the homeland also concerns me,” encourages women aged 20 to 26 to apply by March 31 through the Army’s website.
Volunteers will serve a 12-month term in various units and departments of the Army and may be selected as candidates or trainee reserve officers.
While women have served in specialized roles and as officers in the past, this marks the first opportunity for general voluntary enlistment in regular Army units.
