Greece Wins Top Honors at Travel Gossip Awards 2026

Greece secured top distinctions at the annual awards of British tourism platform Travel Gossip, earning recognition for its unique travel experiences.

Held in London, the Travel Celebration 2026 awards brought together 370 professionals from the British travel industry and honored leading destinations and tourism companies.

Eleni Skarveli, head of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) office in the UK and Ireland, received the awards on behalf of Greece.

Travel agents voted Greece first in the “Agents’ Favorite Sunshine Getaway Destination” category, surpassing leading destinations such as Cyprus, Dubai, Jamaica, Mallorca and Tenerife. Greece also topped the “Agents’ Favorite Family Destination” category, ranking ahead of Abu Dhabi, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Florida and Türkiye.

Furthermore, Greece was nominated in the “Favorite Foodie Destination” and “Luxury Destination” categories, while Mykonos was nominated for the “Favorite LGBTQ+ Friendly Destination” title.

Travel Gossip is one of the most dynamic travel industry information hubs, reaching thousands of tour operators each week through social media, e-marketing and roadshows, as well as its highly popular Facebook group with more than 34,000 members.

The platform records over 11 million social media ad impressions and approximately 3 million page views annually, primarily targeting travel professionals in the UK.
