GULF SHORES, Ala. — The City of Gulf Shores will not be hosting the annual “Hangout Fest” next year.
That music festival has been a staple to the city of Gulf Shores since 2010.
In 2024, country singer Morgan Wallen took it over and rebranded it as “Sand in My Boots.”
That festival sold out all 40,000 tickets.
“We will refuse to let them go back to the acts that we’ve had before. So they couldn’t do it. So they cancelled the 2026 event,” Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft said. “But they’ve got time to now pursue the type of talent we want on our beaches, to invite the right audience we want on our beaches, that we proved last time at the last event that could happen. We’ve determined if it’s gonna happen, it’s going to happen that way again.”
Despite no music festival in 2026, Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft said the city has already approved a music festival for 2027.
