When most people are instructed to wear “church clothes,” they reach for modest skirts, shoulder-covering cardigans, and sensible shoes. When Hailey Bieber got dressed for church yesterday evening, she beelined for a fuzzy sleeveless turtleneck.
Bieber attended services at Churchome—which has counted Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, and Kourtney Kardashian among its celebrity congregants—dressed in an unconventional outfit. She styled her fuzzy black top with a pair of black trousers, black glove flats with a squared-off vamp, slim sunglasses, and a black leather tote bag.
While bare shoulders certainly wouldn’t fly in many churches, this is far from Bieber’s wildest worship ’fit. In November 2023, she took the pantless look for a spin, wearing an oversized sweater with a pair of knee-high pointy-toe boots. The following month, she opted for an ab-baring crop top, styled with low-slung trousers and a full-length Matrix-esque leather coat.
Though it seems like, recently, Hailey Bieber has abandoned her more shocking church looks, she’s still finding a way to subvert the traditional conservative dress code. But hey, it’s not a regular church, it’s a cool church—why not show a little shoulder?
