Halong benefit concert brings musicians from all across the state to Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Music filled the halls of Williwaw Social on Saturday, as crowds of people and musicians came together to raise funds for those impacted by ex-typhoon Halong.

The concert started at 2 p.m. Saturday and is expected to run into Sunday morning.

Along with musicians, there were kids’ activities featuring clowns and arts and crafts. Auctions were also held, featuring items donated by artists and businesses.

Ahead of the concert, Melissa Mitchell, who had a large part in organizing the event and is a part of one group performing Saturday night, told us about the inspiration for the benefit music festival.
