Some happy news! The Academy Award-winning animated film Happy Feet is being developed as a new Broadway-bound musical.
The production will be directed by Michael Arden, who won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for his work on Maybe Happy Ending. The team also includes book writer Douglas Lyons, choreographers Ayodele Casel and duo Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher “Cree” Grant. Music will include hits from the film and chart-topping favorites audiences know and love.
The design team for the musical features Tony Award-winning set designer Dane Laffrey, Tony Award-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty, Tony Award-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz, world-renowned puppet designer Basil Twist, award-winning Orchestrator/ Co-Arranger Kenny Seymour, and Music Supervisor/Co-Arranger Jackson Teeley.
