The RTX 5080 is one of the best GPUs to pick if you’re after both top-tier 1440p and 4K performance, and something that has superior ray tracing handling to the slightly more affordable RTX 5070 Ti. It has over 10,000 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory, which is much faster and offers higher bandwidth than the GDDR6 found in the 40-series and competitor AMD cards. There are also improvements to ray tracing capabilities, thanks to the inclusion of 4th-gen ray tracing cores, which deliver up to two times faster performance than previous generations. What that means is that you’re getting much better real-time lighting, shadows, and reflections. You’ve also got 5th-gen tensor cores on this card, which give the RT 5080 a significant boost in AI performance. This is the size that lets you save it and forget it, which is great if you’re planning on building a large gaming library, or have loads of dense media files, like 4K footage and PSDs, for example. On the RAM front, you’ve got a huge 64GB of Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5, which gives you a load of headroom for demanding AAA titles, enhances smoothness when playing open-world games, and also helps creative applications, like Blender and Adobe Premiere Pro, feel more responsive and snappy.
Things to consider
Corsair gaming PCs are premium quality, and there’s no escaping the hefty price tag that, albeit justifiably so, comes with them. That said, if you’re after something less expensive, but still premium when it comes to build quality, I’d say a good place to look would be Xidax and Gigabyte’s more high-end models. Xidax would be my preference, personally, as I think they have some of the best-looking prebuilds I’ve seen, and while they’re premium, they’re not quite as sky-high as Corsair. Gigabyte, like Corsair, opts for many of its own components in its prebuilds, and they’re not quite as expensive as you’d think, either.
