HELLENiQ ENERGY and bp plc have announced the renewal of their long-standing partnership for an additional 10 years, extending their agreement through 2035. The move reinforces the presence of the bp brand in Greece and builds on more than 15 years of cooperation in the country’s fuel retail sector.

The collaboration began in 2009, when HELLENiQ ENERGY acquired BP Hellas SA Oil Trading and secured exclusive rights to operate the bp brand in Greece’s retail fuels market. Since then, the two companies have worked together to expand and modernise the bp-branded network, which now spans more than 700 locations nationwide.

The partnership combines bp’s expertise in fuel development with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s commercial capabilities and investment in infrastructure upgrades. Over the years, the companies have introduced customer-focused initiatives such as loyalty programmes, the BPme mobile application, enhanced convenience services and digital solutions designed to improve the overall retail experience for motorists.

The new agreement was formally signed at bp’s headquarters in London, with senior executives from both organisations in attendance. Martin Thomsen, Senior Vice President, Mobility & Convenience Europe at bp, said the extension reflects bp’s commitment to working with trusted partners to deliver value and maintain strong brand presence in key markets. He noted that the partnership demonstrates how global expertise and local market knowledge can come together to support customers and drive long-term growth.

Andreas Shiamishis, Chief Executive Officer of HELLENiQ ENERGY, said the relationship with bp has been built on shared priorities of quality, reliability and customer service. He added that the renewed agreement will allow the companies to continue offering advanced fuel products and high standards of service to both Greek consumers and visitors, while responding to changing market demands.

The extended partnership is expected to support further investments in network upgrades, customer services and digital solutions, ensuring consistent quality across bp-branded locations in Greece. It also provides a stable foundation for future initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and enhancing the retail experience.

HELLENiQ ENERGY is one of the leading energy groups in southeastern Europe, while bp operates globally across energy production, refining and retail sectors. Together, the companies plan to build on their established presence in Greece’s fuel market and continue strengthening their offering to customers over the coming decade.

With a presence in more than 70 countries, bp is focused on delivering secure, affordable energy while advancing its transition strategy toward a lower-carbon future. The company is investing in renewables, bioenergy, hydrogen, electric vehicle charging, and energy storage, alongside its traditional energy businesses. Guided by a commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation, bp aims to support economic growth, meet evolving energy demand, and contribute to global efforts to address climate change.
