With songs like “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, the Rolling Stones are one of rock-and-roll’s most enduring legacies. With most members well into their 80s by now, they are still going strong. While the Stones haven’t released new music since 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, some fans believe that’s about to change after mysterious billboards advertising an unknown band called The Cockroaches began cropping up this week in various London locations.
The poster, with its simple red background and white border, reads simply, “The Cockroaches”, with a QR code that passersby can scan for more information.
As Lip Service podcast founder Simon Harper pointed out Wednesday (April 1) in an Instagram post, the Rolling Stones once billed themselves as “Keith and the Cockroaches” for a secret 1977 show.
According to Harper, the QR code links to a website called thecockroaches.com, owned by Universal Music, the Stones’ record label.
The website’s holding page “shows a sparse ‘70s bedroom complete with various ephemera dotted around – some plectrums, concert tickets, and vinyl records – plus a poster for The Cockroaches and a clock stuck on April 11th,” Harper wrote.
Furthermore, forwarding the link to a friend conjures an image bearing the phrase, “Who the f— are the Cockroaches?” Harper points out that the format bears a striking resemblance to a T-shirt Keith Richards once wore, emblazoned with the message, “Who the f— is Mick Jagger?”

The Rolling Stones Have Promised New Music in 2026
It may be easy to chalk all this information up to a coincidence—if guitarist Ronnie Wood hadn’t previously confirmed new Rolling Stones music for 2026.
“Yes, you will be getting a new album next year,” Wood told The Sun’s Bizarre column in September 2025. “It is done.”
The 78-year-old Londoner added that the Stones are also hoping to hit the road once more in celebration of their latest work. “Hopefully we will be back out there but I am still waiting to find out myself,” he said.
Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, who worked on Hackney Diamonds, also confirmed that he’ll be back for the “Honky Tonk Women” stars’ next album.
”I’ve said it before, but it’s like working for Batman,” Watt told Rolling Stone in September 2025. “When the tongue is up in the air, you just go… I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”
We’ll keep our eyes peeled on April 11.
