Hi-Fi Rush‘s incredible original soundtrack has started popping back up on major music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
Despite being one of the best games of all time (no bias there, I swear), Hi-Fi Rush has been through the absolute wringer ever since it released. After winning the hearts of minds of pretty much everyone, Tango Gameworks was shut down by Xbox out of nowhere, leaving it to be picked up by the now AI-focused Krafton.
All of that has already been tough to watch for someone who just wants to see Chai get an encore, but things looked even scarier last week when the soundtrack disappeared with no warning from major streaming services. Hi-Fi Rush’s use of licensed songs and lack of a physical release had us all scared, but it seems things are back to relative calm now.
Hi-Fi Rush’s Soundtrack Is Back On Streaming, And I’ve Never Been Happier
Now We Just Need That Physical Release!
Shortly after the news broke that Hi-Fi Rush’s soundtrack had disappeared, game director John Johanas confirmed it was related to the rights changing hands from Bethesda to Krafton. An announcement was made a few days later confirming that a swap over was incoming, and that nothing to do with the game was going to change.
Even though that was confirmed earlier this week, Hi-Fi Rush’s soundtrack was still missing from most streaming services. Well, over the last 24 hours, that’s finally started to change. As someone who has basically all of the game’s songs on his Spotify, I was very pleasantly surprised to hear Reflection randomly play earlier today.
After a quick check around, I can confirm that Hi-Fi Rush’s soundtrack appears to be back up and running on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music (confirming once and for all that it was on there). Hi-Fi fans have also started to notice, as Redditor triplefoul pointed out that most of the songs are back and ready for streaming.
The only song I can’t get to work on my Spotify right now is The Pulse, but I imagine that’ll be straightened out soon.
It’s a rare bit of good news for a game that simply hasn’t had much to celebrate over the last few years. I can only hope that the uproar over the soundtrack going missing has cemented once again to Krafton how much the world bloody loves Hi-Fi Rush, and how much freedom Tango should be given with its sequel.
