Open to young artists aged 25 and under, the HK Generation Next Arts Music Competition recently came to a close in Hong Kong.
Out of the four finalists, who performed with conductor Andrew Ling and the HKGNA Music Festival Youth Orchestra, violinist Anais Feller was named the Grand Prize Winner. She received a HKD 80,000 cash prize, a debut performance at the HKGNA Music Festival 2026, and an exclusive overseas concert engagement.
The Grand Prize Final Jury comprises Ju-Young Baek, Hanna Lee, Jing Wang, Michael Ma, Andrew Ling, Gabriel Kwok, Eleanor Wong, Gwhyneth Chen, and Michelle Kim.
20-year-old American violinist Anais Feller has studied under Tiffany Modell, Michael and Irina Tseitlin, Jina and Lucas Aleman, and Martin Beaver — the latter at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles. She is a current student of Midori at the Curtis Institute of Music.
She has played at various chamber music festivals such as Yellow Barn, Morningside Music Bridge International Music Festival in Boston, International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad, Switzerland, and Burgos International Music Festival in Spain.
As a soloist, she performed with such orchestras as the South Coast Symphony, the Plano Symphony, the San Angelo Symphony, and the Colburn Virtuosi.
In 2021, Anaïs won the second prize and the orchestra prize at the Tibor Junior International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland. In 2022, her trio, the Olive Trio, won the gold medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
In 2023, Anaïs won the first prize at Pasadena Showcase string competition, the South Coast Symphony Concerto competition, and the Young Artist Competition with the Pasadena Community Orchestra.
