That 106-102 contest featured Tyler Herro making his return to action and leading the Heat with 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Kel’el Ware added 20 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks while Bam Adebayo went for 17 with six boards, two blocks and a steal. Jamie Jaquez Jr. chipped in 13, six rebounds and five assists off the bench.
The Mavericks are 7-15 and have won two straight coming into this meeting. The loss to Miami last month was the second in a three-game losing streak and the second of three instances so far this season in which P.J. Washington led the team in scoring. He had 27, eight rebounds and two blocks while the rest of the starters (Daniel Gafford, Cooper Flagg, Brandon Williams and Max Christie) combined for 50 points, with Gafford also grabbing 11 boards and swatting a pair of shots. Klay Thompson added 13 and a couple steals as a reserve.
