Danske Spil posted record post-tax profit in 2025 and pointed to progress on responsible gaming, with online gambling spend among customers aged under 25 down to less than DKK130 (US$19.90) per month.
Post-tax profit for the Danish operator reached DKK2bn ($307.5m) in 2025, up from DKK1.95bn ($298.3m) in 2024.
While gross gaming revenue fell from DKK5.26bn ($804.9m) to DKK5.16bn ($789.9m), Danske Spil’s social contribution reached DKK1.8bn ($273.7m).
The operator’s social contribution including distribution funds, profits, gaming taxes and corporate taxes was DKK3.1bn ($482.1m), down from DKK3.28bn ($502.6m) in 2024.
Danske Spil CEO Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen also referenced a decline in gambling spend for young people, with the figure for under-25s per month falling to DKK130 per month.
“As part of a persistent and preventive effort, the proportion of players who give rise to the greatest concern was further reduced in 2025,” Lyhne-Knudsen said.
“Danske Spil maintains a market-leading position in a market with fierce competition from large, international players and rapidly changing consumer habits,” he added.
“Danske Spil must continue to be the Danes’ gaming company and the responsible market leader in the future, and this requires that we constantly develop and think new things.
“It is by developing Danske Spil that we remain relevant, so that we can continue to unite 1.9 million Danes around the dream of winning for the benefit of the community in the future.”
In 2026 Danske Spil expects gross gaming revenue of between DKK5.2bn ($796.3m) and DKK5.3bn ($811.5m).
Profit after tax is expected to be between DKK1.95bn ($298.6m) and DKK2.05bn ($313.9m).
