Authorities made 17 arrests in connection with a large illegal online gambling network in a police operation across Greece on Tuesday.
Police said that group members installed slot machines equipped with software designed to increase players’ losses in internet cafes and coffee shops.
The operation, carried out by Greece’s organized crime unit, led to the arrest of leading members of the group in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra and Agrinio, as well as the owners of the shops.
