I’m tempted to buy another copy of my 2024 game of the year — and it’s not the only Xbox game SEGA is discounting for Black Friday

SEGA publishes a huge variety of popular video games on Xbox, and is still committed to physical editions for players and collectors. Right now, as part of SEGA’s Black Friday sale at Amazon.com, you can get a variety of critically acclaimed games with some tantalizing price cuts.

That includes my personal game of the year from 2024, with Metaphor: ReFantazio only costing $32.99 at Amazon.com for a physical copy. I’ll be honest, I love this game so much that I’m tempted to buy it again.

SEGA (and its subsidiary, Atlus) count high among them. It’d take more words than I can spare for this article to go over that pedigree of amazing games, but I’ll absolutely take some time to gush about my favorite.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is an incredibly ambitious JRPG that blends real-time and turn-based combat, social simulation, and strategy elements. In my 4.5/5-star Metaphor: ReFantazio review, I said:

“With the credits rolling as I write this verdict, Metaphor: ReFantazio has cemented itself as the best game I’ve played this year so far. While the long periods of time with no gameplay and the divisive art style may not be to everyone’s taste, Metaphor: ReFantazio makes a compelling argument for the “game of the year” title with its evocative and passionately crafted narrative, loveable and believable characters, incredible RPG, combat, and social simulation elements, and an art design that truly brings to life this unique world.”

A little later, I named Metaphor: ReFantazio my personal game of the year for 2024. I already own this game digitally, but now’s a great time to buy another copy for the physical collection, seeing that Metaphor: ReFantazio’s physical Xbox edition is only $32.99 at Amazon.com right now.

SEGA still sells a lot of physical games for Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles, and its Black Friday sale at Amazon.com heavily discounts a number of those physical titles, including Like a Dragon and Sonic games. If you love physical Xbox games, I wouldn’t pass up this Black Friday sale — and, while you’re here, be sure to check out our list of the best Black Friday deals we’ve seen so far.
