In The Blind‘s new single “Wither” has newly been made available to stream, arriving with a video overseen by their vocalist Josh Grosscup. The band remains a union of some familiar alternative metal faces, including Jasan Stepp and John Ensminger of Dog Fashion Disco fame and Bill Gaal (In For The Kill, ex-Nothingface) and more. Grosscup, himself a veteran of Megosh and more, said of the song:
“‘Wither‘ is a haunting ballad that unfolds like a diary left open on a dusty windowsill. The narrator, trapped inside the same four walls that once promised safety, watches the days blur into gray. The chorus is a dying echo of a man’s struggle with depression in a place most feel comfort.
Realizing the haven has become a slow-acting poison, the song ends on a single unresolved chord, leaving the listener inside the room, unsure whether the next sound will be a door opening or the walls closing in.”
