Intel has just added the latest support for its Arc Battlemage “BMG-G31” GPU, hinting that the launch should be closer than we think.
Intel’s Big Battlemage “Arc BMG-G31” GPU Sees Brand New Support, Launching Soon?
Rumors around the launch of Intel’s Big Arc Battlemage GPU, the BMG-G31, have been circling the web for a good year or so. The launch was expected soon after the BMG-G21 GPU, which was introduced on Intel’s Arc B580 and Arc B570 graphics cards. The rumored Arc B770 was expected to launch earlier this year, but we are at the end of 2025, and we still haven’t heard any concrete details from Intel itself.
However, Intel has sneakily added new support for its Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU in the latest VTune Profiler software. The latest version was released on 4th of December (2025), and lists the BMG-G31 GPU support along with Core Ultra 3 CPUs “Panther Lake”. We know that Panther Lake is all set for launch at CES 2026, so is this a hint that we may also get to see the bigger Arc Battlemage GPU at the same event?
The following is the changelog for the latest version of VTune Profiler:
2025.7
New Features
- Code Annotations Enhancement for ITT API: Introduced Formatted Metadata API for the Instrumentation and Tracing Technology (ITT) API, enabling attachment of printf-style formatted string data to tasks. This provides richer context in timeline tooltips and supports grouping in bottom-up analysis views, simplifying identification of performance patterns across diverse execution scenarios.
- Finalization speedup: finalization is now up to 2x faster for workloads with extensive compute tasks and multi-GPU usage, based on internal benchmarks compared to the previous release.
- Support for Intel® Arc Battlemage(BMG-G31) and Intel® Core™ Ultra 3 Processors(Panther Lake)
- Bug Fixes and Security: Includes updates for critical bug fixes and security issues.

As for what we know about the Intel Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, it is supposedly going to feature four SKUs, and the Device IDs leak seems to align with that much. In terms of specifications, the Arc BMG-G31 GPU “Big Battlemage” is expected to feature up to 32 Xe2 cores, 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, and should be a nice upgrade over the Arc A770 if it’s priced in the $300-$400 US segment. That should easily compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 and AMD’s RX 9060 series graphics cards.
Intel had more ambitious plans for its Arc Battlemage lineup, but those were ultimately canceled. The Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, if it launches, will be introduced at a time when Intel has already moved its iGPU architecture to the new Xe3 design, still labeled under the Arc Battlemage family. We do hope to see some GPU action next year, as there are reports that others might delay or even straight out cancel their plans due to the ongoing DRAM shortages.
