Iran rejected a 15-point U.S. ceasefire proposal delivered via Pakistan, insisting the war will end only on its own terms, Iranian state television’s English-language broadcaster reported.
“Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met,” Press TV said, citing a senior official.
Iran responded with a counterproposal that calls for a halt to assassinations, guarantees against future conflict, compensation for war damages, and an end to fighting across all fronts involving allied groups. It also demands recognition of Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil passes.
