Jigsaw Ready for More Video Games!

SAW - Jigsaw Ready for More Video Games

Hidden in an article detailing plans for a John Wick video game, Tech 4 Gamers reveals that Lionsgate has also licensed out the SAW franchise for the console.

“Our AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw and some others that we’ll be announcing soon,” said Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman.

In SAW, created in 2004 by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, two men wake up in a bathroom, discovering they have been captured by the infamous man known as Jigsaw (Tobin Bell). The franchise has spanned ten films, with the next being developed by Blumhouse and Wan’s Atomic Monster for Lionsgate.

There have been two video game adaptations: the 2009 Saw: The Video Game, which was set between Saw and Saw II, and followed Detective David Tapp (Danny Glover’s character from the first movie), who survives his apparent death and wakes up trapped in one of Jigsaw’s games. It’s followed by Saw II: Flesh & Blood (2010), which continues the story from the first game. Both were puzzle-solving third-person survival horror games.

From Amanda Young as The Pig to the Gideon Meat Plant and Reverse Bear Traps, Saw’s full DLC footprint also lives on in Dead by Daylight.

More news as it comes in.
