Jill Scott to return to music with first new album in over 10 years

Jill Scott is making her long-awaited return to music this year.

The R&B star announced Friday that her new album, “To Whom This May Concern,” will be released on Feb. 13.

The album will mark Scott’s first full-length project since 2015’s “Woman,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“THIS MAY CONCERN drops Feb. 13th,” Scott wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 2. “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and THANK YOU for your patience and your listening ears.”

Fans can pre-save or pre-order the album online.

Scott is a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist who achieved platinum success straight out the gate with her 2000 debut album, “Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1.”

A fixture of the modern Neo-soul movement, the Philadelphia native achieved further success with her following albums “Beautifully Human: Words and Sounds Vol. 2” (2004), “The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3″ (2007) and “The Light of the Sun” (2011).

In 2025, Scott marked the 25th anniversary of her debut album with a special “Jill Scott & Friends” performance at Essence Festival in July.

Scott is also an accomplished actress. She made her film debut in 2007 in “Hounddog” and Tyler Perry‘s “Why Did I Get Married?.” Scott has also starred in the BBC/HBO series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” the film “Get on Up” and appeared in The CWDC Comics superhero series “Black Lightning.”

Scott has been more focused on acting since her last album, most recently making a guest appearance on “Abbott Elementary.” She will return to the screen for Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Again?” for Netflix, which started production in October 2025.
