John Travolta has given us some of the best movies. While a younger audience knows him well for action roles in films like Savages, Cash Out, and The Taking of Pelham 123 among others, another generation knows him for movies like Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Fever, and more. In his long-spanning career, the actor has taken a wide variety of roles, from action and drama to musicals, and one of them is surging on streaming now.

Grease has danced its way to Tubi’s top 10 domestic charts, as per FlixPatrol. The classic musical sees Travolta shaking a leg with Olivia Newton-John in a rom-com that has a huge legacy. Released in 1978, the Randal Kleiser-directed film follows Danny (Travolta) and Sandy (Newton-John), who first meet while vacationing in Australia and indulge in a passionate love affair. They part ways believing they will not see each other again, but fate has other plans when they find each other going to the same school.

The movie was a big hit, earning $396.3 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing live-action musical, and it maintained the top position for 30 years until it was surpassed by Les Misérables in 2012. Travolta gained a lot of acclaim for his portrayal of cool greaser Danny, while Newton-John garnered praise for her portrayal of sweet and innocent Sandy Olsson. Along with Travolta and Newton-John, the movie also cast incredible talents: Jeff Conaway as Kenickie, Barry Pearl as Doody, Michael Tucci as Sonny LaTierri, Kelly Ward as Putzie, Stockard Channing as Betty Rizzo, Didi Conn as Frenchy, Jamie Donnelly as Jan, and Dinah Manoff as Marty Maraschino, among others. From its soundtrack, choreography, and direction, Grease received acclaim from all directions, earning an Oscar nomination and the reputation of a cult classic. It has a 65% Rotten Tomatoes rating from the critics, while audiences gave it a much higher rating of 87%.
