BRATTLEBORO – Juventas New Music Ensemble presents “Family Photos” Saturday, January 17, at the Brattleboro Music Center.
The 7 p.m. performance will trace each artist’s personal journey and heritage, while inviting listeners to reflect on the diverse threads woven into our shared national story.
The program will include Derrick Skye’s American Mirror; Kian Ravaei’s Family Photos; Clarice Assad’s Canções da America; Jerod Tate’s Pisachi (Reveal); and Oliver Caplan’s Green Mountain Fugue, a work commissioned in memory of Lynda Copeland by her daughters.
Performers will be Mina Lavcheva, Ryan Shannon, violin; Lu Yu, viola; and Matthew Smith, cello.
A dynamic contemporary chamber group with a special focus on emerging voices, Juventas New Music reimagines classical music as a vibrant living art form, bringing audiences music from a diverse array of rising composers that live in today’s world and respond to our time.
