Middleton kept things simple and chic for the solo outing, while she quietly departed from one longstanding fashion rule: never pair black with navy. Of course, these rules were made to be broken and Middleton’s understated, stylish look proves it. She wore a navy wool coat with structured sleeves and a slightly cinched waist, paired with a jet black turtleneck. She completed the look by supporting her team with an England Rugby scarf. Meanwhile, she accessorized with a pair of dazzling diamond drop earrings.

This marks Middleton’s first appearance since the arrest of her uncle-in-law Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on February 19 for suspicion of misconduct in public office. She and her family were reportedly just a few miles away at Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. when the arrest took place.
King Charles released a statement saying that “the law must take its course” following his brother’s arrest. Meanwhile, various outlets reported that William and Middleton “support” the King’s statement, though they haven’t made their own statement.
