The Houston Rockets pulled off an offseason blockbuster trade to acquire superstar forward Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns. With that move, they instantly became one of the top contenders in the Western Conference.

So far this season, the Rockets have gone 43-27. They are certainly a contender, but haven’t quite lived up to the hype that they received before the year began.

Durant has been continuing to play at an elite level. Throughout his first 67 games with Houston, he has averaged 25.7 points per game to go along with 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.9 blocks, while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and 40.8 percent from three-point range.

At 37 years old, Durant remains one of the best offensive players in the NBA.

That being said, the end of his career is drawing near. Fans have been able to watch Durant torch NBA defenders for 18 seasons, but all good things do come to an end.

Kevin Durant Speaks Out With Hint About NBA Retirement Timeline

Just how long does Durant have left playing in the NBA? He spoke out recently and shared a potential hint about that timeline.

As shared by Polymarket Hoops, Durant is hoping to play for another “handful of years.”

“There’s gonna come a time when it’s not my place, and we’re creeping closer to that. And it’s crazy to think about as the season winds down,” Durant said.

“This is what I spent all my life doing, every day. This is a part of my routine. This is what I center my life around, is the game. So, to know that, having a handful of years, hopefully, left to do this, gotta start getting prepared for that next phase.”

Durant’s comments make it sound like he’s hoping to play for another few seasons at least. His fans will be pleased to hear that.

The Future Hall of Famer Has Reached Another NBA Milestone

Just to add another sign of how good Durant has been since coming into the NBA, he has surpassed Michael Jordan for fifth on the all-time scoring list.

To commemorate that milestone, the NBA made an epic post looking back on Durant’s road to 32,393 points.

Standing in at 6-foot-11 and 240 pounds, Durant possesses one of the most unique skill-sets in NBA history. He can post up, shoot, and handle the basketball.

All of that being said, his focus is on leading the Rockets on an NBA Finals run. Houston will continue that goal on Monday night with a road matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
