Kirby Science Discover Center to open immersive space exhibit

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Washington Pavilion is unveiling the Kirby Science Discovery Center’s Largest Renovation in years.

“Space Explorers: Mission Infinity” is an immersive, STEM-focused exhibit. It’s designed to engage children and families in hands-on learning, space science, and innovation.

It’s also the biggest single investment since the center opened in 1999.

“This floor will open new ways for us to spark curiosity and creativity with everyone who walks through the doors. This floor will tell a story of space with 5 unique zones, with rocket launches, exploring the wonder that is our planet Earth, looking to the future of life on Mars, and reimaging what is out there,” said Madelyn Grogan, Washington Pavilion Director of Museums & Education.

The exhibit officially opens to the public this Saturday, Nov. 15.
