KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Southern Skies Music and Whiskey Festival is “pressing pause” as show runners work towards bringing something new to the Scruffy City.
Southern Skies will instead make way for Dogwood Arts’ KnoxWalls Murals and Music Festival. An open-air art and music-centered event, it’s being billed as a street party featuring music from local and regional musicians.
“This event has always been about supporting live music and celebrating our creative community, and that mission isn’t going anywhere,” the festival’s website reads.
The free KnoxWalls Murals and Music Festival will also include a competition between 10 artists and see two murals left behind in North Knoxville when its done. The festival will also share a bit of the DNA that made Southern Skies so popular.
“And don’t worry — The Dirty Guv’nahs aren’t going anywhere,” the website reads.
KnoxWalls Murals and Music Festival is slated for Saturday, May 30 in Emory Place.
