Knueppel has hit 209 shots from beyond the arc with 22 games to go.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kon Knueppel made NBA history.
The Charlotte Hornets star set the league’s rookie record for three-point shots made on Thursday night, bringing his total for the year to 209.
The previous record of 206 was held by Keegan Murray.
Knueppel figures to put some distance on that mark, with 22 games remaining in the regular season.
The all-time record for threes made in a season is 402 by Steph Curry in 2015-16.
He stayed hot in Thursday’s win over Indiana, going 8-12 from beyond the arc in a 28-point performance.
The 20-year-old, first-round pick is also the NBA’s leader in three-pointers made this season.
Charlotte defeated the Pacers, 133-109, to extend its franchise record road win streak to nine games.
