The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts has appointed Broward County resident and veteran nonprofit finance executive Toby Douthwright as its new chief financial officer – marking a major leadership transition for one of South Florida’s leading cultural institutions.
Douthwright steps into the role following the retirement of longtime CFO Kyle Roberts, whose 33-year tenure helped shape the Kravis Center’s financial strategy and institutional growth.
In his new position, Douthwright will oversee finance, accounting, budgeting and risk management while working closely with the board of directors and executive leadership to support the center’s long-term sustainability and mission-driven programming.
“Toby’s depth of experience, strategic mindset and steady leadership make him an outstanding addition to the Kravis Center’s executive team,” said CEO Diane Quinn. She noted that strong financial infrastructure is critical to advancing artistic excellence and community access, adding that Douthwright assumes the role following Roberts’ “extraordinary legacy” of institutional leadership.
Douthwright brings more than 25 years of senior financial and operational experience across nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Most recently, he served as vice president for finance and chief financial officer at The Miami Foundation, where he managed financial operations, risk management, human resources, information technology, and administrative functions for a community foundation with more than $550 million in assets.
His background also includes executive leadership roles at The Lord’s Place in Palm Beach County and at Clinton Foundation, where he helped guide financial and operational strategy for mission-driven initiatives.
A graduate of Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, Douthwright holds a bachelor’s degree in management science with a concentration in accounting. He resides in Fort Lauderdale with his husband, Dean, and their cat, Miss Kitty.
The appointment comes as the Kravis Center continues to expand its programming and strengthen its position as a major performing arts venue in South Florida, with leadership emphasizing financial stewardship as a key component of its future growth.
