LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Strip will host a major celebration on Friday in honor of music star Bruno Mars.
Mars, real name Peter Gene Hernandez, launched his long-running residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2016.
He has since performed more than 120 concerts at the venue, becoming one of the highest-grossing residencies in Las Vegas Strip history.
To celebrate Mars, MGM Resorts announced it will host a parade starting at 1 p.m. Friday on the north side of the Bellagio.
The parade will run south past the Bellagio Fountains, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and ARIA to Park MGM. It’s scheduled to arrive at Toshiba Plaza by 1:30 p.m., where Park Avenue will officially be renamed Bruno Mars Drive.
Fans are encouraged to view the parade from the sidewalks in front of the Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan and Park MGM. Toshiba Plaza opens to fans at 11 a.m. with limited space and will be closed off once it reaches capacity.
All of these events will also kick off “The Romantic Tour,” Mars’ headlining stadium tour. It begins Friday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
