Bad Bunny skips Latin Grammys red carpet

The Puerto Rican superstar who’s set to headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show skipped out on the Latin Grammys red carpet but was spotted in the audience during the opening performance.
He also took home the first award of the night, nabbing the best urban music album for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”
“Thank you, it’s always a special moment being up here,” Bad Bunny, clad in a black suit and white baseball cap, said in Spanish as he accepted his award. “I get just as nervous as the first time. That means that what I do matters to me.”
“Thanks to the academy and to everyone who believed in this project,” he concluded.

Rauw Alejandro takes Latin Grammys stage

Accompanied by several dancers, Rauw Alejandro stunned audiences with a vibrant set that included hit songs, “Khé?” “Carita Linda” and “Falsedad.”
The 32-year-old Puerto Rican singer-songwriter is nominated in the album of the year category for his 18-track record titled “Cosa Nuestra,” which was released last November. Ahead of his performance, the artist called his “Cosa Nuestra” shows “the best tour of my career” on the red carpet.
He also earned a nod in the best reggaeton performance category for his track “Baja Pa’ Acá” featuring Alexis y Fido.

Latin Grammys open with Carlos Santana tribute

It’s time for the Latin Grammys! Maluma, Grupo Frontera and Christian Nodal kicked off the ceremony with a musical tribute to the legendary guitarist Carlos Santana, 78.
Ahead of the award show, Nodal, 26, said on the red carpet he felt nervous to pay tribute to Santana. But still, felt “butterflies” in his stomach and was excited to get on the stage. During his performance, his 22-year-old wife Ángela Aguilar could be singing along and dancing.
Nodal is nominated for best ranchero/mariachi album for “¿Quién + Como Yo?,” which was released in May. He’s up against father-in-law Pepe Aguilar in the category.
Maluma began the tribute on Thursday. The Colombian superstar is nominated in both the best urban song and regional song categories for “Cosas Pendientes” and “Si Tú Me Vieras,” respectively.
Grupo Frontera, which also performed Santana’s greatest hits, has two nominations in the best regional song category for both “Hecha Pa’ Mi” and “Me Jalo.”

Peso Pluma, Mexican music genre shut out at Latin Grammys?

While this year’s Latin Grammys nominees include Mexican music artists Christian Nodal, Pepe Aguilar, Grupo Frontera, Los Tigres del Norte, Ivan Cornejo, DannyLux and Carín León − artists leading the pack in the genre’s corridos tumbados arena weren’t as notable.
Sure, Fuerza Regida is nominated, and this year could mark their first Latin Grammy win, but breakout regional Mexican star Peso Pluma was notably absent from the nominees list.
The 26-year-old released “Éxodo” last June, within the eligibility period of June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025. At last year’s award show, he earned two nominations, including record of the year.

Bad Bunny leads Latin Grammys 2025 nominations

Who will come out on top at the Latin Grammys for album of the year? The past year has seen several no-skip albums from some of the biggest names in Latin music.
Bad Bunny set the tone for 2025 with his January release of “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” his sixth studio album; Rauw Alejandro capped off 2024 with a new era in “Cosa Nuestra”; Recording Academy darling Natalia Lafourcade released a deeply personal album with “Cancionera”; and right in time for the summer, Karol G ushered in a new chapter of her career with “Tropicoqueta.”
But in terms of who’s leading the pack with the most nods tonight, it’s Bad Bunny with a total of 12, including record of the year and song of the year categories for “Baile Inolvidable” and “DTMF.”
Other stars who will be vying for a golden gramophone alongside Bad Bunny include Argentinian hip-hop duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso and Latin icons including Alejandro Sanz and Gloria Estefan. Sanz and Estefan are also up for album of the year.

The 26th annual Latin Grammy Awards, hosted by Maluma and Roselyn Sánchez, will air live tonight, Thursday, Nov. 13, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
The awards show ceremony is taking place at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the ceremony will be preceded by a one-hour pre-show starting at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET.
