Passport ready, outfits planned, drama pending… Emily in Paris is clearly not done living its best life yet. As whispers around the next chapter grow louder, fans can expect the story to travel far beyond familiar streets, with fresh backdrops adding a new flavour to the series.

Production for Season 6 of Emily in Paris is scheduled to begin in May, with creator Darren Star once again leading the project. According to Variety, the upcoming season will expand its European canvas, with filming set to take place in Greece and Monaco.

The series, known for its visually rich locations, has previously filmed across several picturesque destinations, including Rome, Venice, Saint Tropez and Megève. The addition of Greece and Monaco signals a continued effort to elevate the show’s globe-trotting appeal.

Ahead of filming, key cast members — including Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and Andrew Fleming — are expected to appear at PaleyFest LA, offering an early glimpse into what lies ahead for the show.

The series continues to perform strongly on Netflix. Season 5 debuted at No. 2 on the platform’s global Top 10 rankings, recording 13.5 million views within its first four days. The momentum remained steady in the following week, with an additional 13.3 million views, underscoring the show’s consistent international popularity.

Despite its success, details surrounding the storyline of Season 6 remain limited, with creators maintaining secrecy around key plot developments.

The show’s recent journey has also been marked by tragedy. Assistant director Diego Borella passed away at the age of 47 during the filming of Season 5 in Italy. Borella reportedly collapsed on set while preparations were underway for a final scene at the Hotel Danieli in Venice.

Speaking earlier to The Hollywood Reporter, Darren Star reflected on the protagonist’s evolving journey across the seasons. “I think ultimately that’s where her heart was and it kind of clarified for her the fact that she wants to be in Paris and she wants to live there and it’s not a temporary thing.”

He also hinted at the direction of Emily’s relationships moving forward, particularly her dynamic with Gabriel. “I don’t think that Emily and Gabrielle would come back together… I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other.”
