The Mint Condition frontman—known for his work with Prince, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson—not only duets with Webster on the classic track but plays drums and percussion throughout the entire album.

“I really feel comfortable in my skin right now,” confides the Woodstock native, who admits that Bob Marley is her most-streamed artist, followed by an eclectic rotation of Yo-Yo Ma, Mos Def, Olivia Dean, Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, and Jeff Buckley. “I’ve got incredible people in my life, and I’ve learned to discern what is best for me. It’s all about remembering that, sprinkled throughout the trying times are still sunny days, joy, and love.”
That equanimous nature, combined with her enviable vocal range and ability to craft universal themes into timeless anthems, has garnered Webster a devoted international fanbase. Soultracks once nailed it, declaring, “If Carole King and Sade had a kid, she would be Lindsey Webster.” Remarkably, Webster remains the only vocalist since Sade in 2010 to have had a #1 hit on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts.
Music In Me was written, recorded, produced, and mixed over three years. Her soulful, hypnotic sound is deeply rooted in her musical partnership with long-time pianist Keith Slattery. Together, they assembled an impressive roster of guest artists, including several Grammy winners.
Beyond Stokley, guests include Grammy-winning vocalist Anthony Hamilton (D’Angelo, Angie Stone, Jill Scott), Jazz/Hip-Hop trumpeter Keyon Harrold (PJ Morton, Beyoncé, Robert Glasper), guitarist Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer, Patti LaBelle), and rapper/composer Kev Choice (Lauryn Hill, Ledisi).

“Music is my best friend,” she shares. “It helps move our emotions. You feel differently after you listen. It’s real-time. I have relied on music my entire life and it has been an escape for as long as I can remember. It has saved my life.”
Raised in the creative haven of Woodstock, NY, Webster famously turned away from medical school to make history in the music world. Following her 2016 breakout hit “Fool Me Once,” she has enjoyed a decade of sustained chart dominance with acclaimed albums like Back to Your Heart and Reasons. Now, Music in Me marks a bold new chapter, further cementing her status as a premier voice in contemporary music.
