Live music calendar: Nov. 21–30, 2025

Dirty’s Double Boogie Benefit

7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25
Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

To be honest, this isn’t a big week for live music. Touring bands tend to take it easy around Thanksgiving, and a lot of venues take some time off. You can still get out and see some cool music this week if you’re motivated, though. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Wild Buffalo features three locals associated with the jam band scene: Vibacious, Jamnesia and the reunion of OSO. It’s a benefit for Aaron Goude, a local musician who could use some help in the aftermath of some health problems.

Madman Across The Water

7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26
Lincoln Theatre, 712 S. 1st St.

Madman Across the Water, a tribute act from Tacoma, tackles the intricate pop music of Elton John with an impressive level of sophistication. At least from the videos I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like they really try to match the costumes you might expect, so maybe that’s up to the audience. They’re at the Lincoln Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Jackson and the Janks

9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28
The Shakedown, 1212 N. State St.

Jackson and the Janks are a high-energy rock and roll band from NYC with a fun blend of retro influences. There’s some rockabilly, some gospel, and some old school rhythm and blues all thrown into the mix. Plus, they use a bass saxophone to hold down the low end — a very cool move. They’re one of the only out-of-town bands playing this week, with a show at the Shakedown on Friday, Nov. 28.

Emotive Origami Ensemble

8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29
Odd Fellows Temple Room, 311 E. Holly St.

The Emotive Origami Ensemble is a local jazz supergroup of sorts. Founded by trumpeter and Western prof Kevin Woods, the group also includes singer Sage Eisenhour, pianist Cat Toren, bassist Joel Kruzic and drummer Christian Casolary, most of whom are composers and bandleaders in their own right. I don’t talk enough about how cool the Saturday night jazz scene at the Odd Fellows Temple Room is, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, maybe Saturday the 29th would be a good night to make your way down there.
