JENNINGS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – First Mid Bank and Trust partnered with Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Incorporated, to teach financial literacy to students at Woodland Elementary in the Jennings School District.
The workshop is part of Financial Literacy Month and aims to provide students with early financial knowledge and education.
“Children are like sponges. The earlier we start, the greater the impact,” said Karen Dickson, community development officer at First Mid Bank and Trust. “It’s a chance to give them a leg up in life and a head start. We do real-world activities with them, so it gives them a greater opportunity to be successful financially.”
The program uses real-world activities to teach students about finances.
