The Los Alamos High School Science Bowl A Team took first place at the New Mexico
Regional Science Bowl contest and will be competing in Nationals in Washington, DC
April 30-May 4.
The C Team was presented the Spirit award for their excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.
LAHS sent three teams to the competition held at Albuquerque Academy last Saturday.
“All of our students did an amazing job at the competition and I couldn’t be prouder of
them,” said Science Bowl sponsor Ali Renner “They have been preparing for this competition for several months, including two friendly competitions with some folks from Los Alamos National Lab and a group of LAHS science and math teachers.”
Members of the A team include Drew Bacrania (captain), Gavin Bent, Henry Gans, Michelle Lo, and Julia Zou. The B team members are Amelia Dolejsi, Aven Heavner (captain), Tate Plohr Sylvia Stanek, and Kevin Zou. Noah Bane, Lydia Davis (captain), Jack Harris, Suchir Jha, and Calvin Marksteiner comprise the C team.
